Welcome to the Women's Sectionn

Welcome to the Cowley Road Condors Women's Section

A very warm welcome to the women's section of condors.cc. We've created these pages to act as a hub of information for our women members and those ladies who are thinking of riding with us, so we can provide you with a bit more detail, and tell you about some of the awesome things we're currently getting up to.

Our club's biggest growth area is women's cycling and our female members account for nearly a quarter of our overall membership.  Not only that, during the last season (2014-15) we tripled our total number of women members.  These are stat's we're all immensely proud of and makes us unique as a cycling club in Oxford.

We would absolutely love for you to come and ride with us too, we're sure you'll enjoy it.  Don't just take our word for it though, some of our women riders have written about their experiences on our testimonials page.

By now we hope you've had a chance to read the 'Thinking of Joining' and 'About us' sections of the website so you'll know a little of what this club is all about... And hopefully the temptation to come ride with us is steadily building.  If you've never ridden with a cycling club before then please do come and give it a go; cycling on your own is great, but cycling in a group is so much more fun!

Check out the info below for a little more detail about the types of rides and activities we're involved in.

Rides

Whether you've ridden your road bike for 10 miles or over 10,000 miles; and whether that was just for fun or for the love of the white-heat of competition; we have a ride for you! Read all about our newbies rides, regular club rides, and mixed chain gangs and women-only chain gang on our rides page.

Racing

If you're interested in competitive cycling as well as our regular club rides, then our time trial and women's race teams are for you.  These teams welcome new riders, but are also competing at a high level and are having some great successes - read all about them on the women's racing page.  Do join the Condor Women's Racing Facebook Group too for all the latest racing info.

Social

The Condors fun doesn't stop when you get off the bike.  We're a really sociable club, and joining the Condors is a great way to meet new people, whether you're new to Oxford or have been here for years.  As well as the regular club socials and impromptu gatherings, the women's committee also organise regular women's socials.

Kit

The famous pink and black Condors kit is available to all club members and our kit suppliers Champion Systems produce women's-fit specific versions of all of the items.  Sizing in cycling kit can be a little odd, so we'd strongly recommend having a chat with your clubmates before ordering.

Custom kit orders take place every couple of months and the club also holds a small selection of stock.  You can check the current stock levels here and read more about kit on our kit page
